Office Packing

Packing an office is structurally different from packing a household. Workstations come apart in specific sequences and have to reassemble identically. IT equipment needs anti-static handling. File archives need chain-of-custody documentation. Florette runs office packing as a separate discipline with weekend scheduling, cable-and-component bagging by workstation, anti-static IT protocols, and sealed chain-of-custody boxes for sensitive documents.

What we cover

What every move includes

One project manager runs every move from survey to settled-in, with three workstreams in parallel.

Workstations: monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, peripherals, cables, desk accessories — disassembled with labelled and bagged hardware, photographed for reassembly reference.

Workstation labelling system

Every workstation gets a number — say W47 — and that number goes on every box, bag, and component associated with that desk. The destination floor and zone are pre-mapped (W47 goes to Floor 5, Zone B-3).

IT and server packing protocols

For server rooms and IT closets, we coordinate with your IT team. They handle power-down and final user file saves. We disconnect, anti-static wrap, rack-aware crate, and transport.

Document chain-of-custody

For sensitive document archives (HR files, financial records, client information, legal contracts), boxes are sealed with tamper-evident tape, numbered against a written inventory, and signed at both pickup and delivery. Locked transport. The chain-of-custody log is a documented record from origin desk to destination filing — useful for compliance, audit, and any post-move questions about specific files. Standard offering for any office move with sensitive document content.

Weekend execution timing

Most office packing happens Friday evening and Saturday so unpacking can complete Sunday and business resumes Monday. Sequence: Friday after end-of-business, IT shuts down, employees leave for the weekend. Friday night to Saturday: Florette crew packs workstations, IT, and archives. Saturday: transport. Sunday: unloading and reassembly at destination by floor and zone. Sunday evening: IT bring-up. Monday: business as usual.

For larger offices (100+ workstations, 3+ floors), the window extends to a long weekend or a phased two-weekend schedule.

What's not included

Software configuration, network setup, and cabling at destination are your IT team's scope. Decommissioning old furniture or fixtures is usually quoted as a separate service if needed. Lease-end cleaning of the old space is separate from packing scope.

Pricing — bundled vs standalone

Office packing is usually bundled into the office relocation quote. For standalone office packing (you'll handle transport via different contractor), quoted by workstation count, IT volume, and document archive scale.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions clients ask us most often before booking.

Can you do the IT side too — power-down, configuration, bring-up?

No — that's your IT team's scope. We handle physical move and rack-aware crating only. Pretending to do IT configuration leads to disasters; clean handoff is the only model that works.

How do you handle sensitive documents?

Chain-of-custody documentation. Sealed boxes with tamper-evident tape. Signed inventory at pickup and delivery. Locked transport. Standard offering — not a premium upgrade.

Can office packing happen during business hours?

Possible but unusual. Most clients prefer weekend or after-hours execution to preserve business continuity. Business-hours packing scheduled around your operations works for smaller offices.

How are workstations labelled for the destination?

Every workstation gets an origin number (W47). Boxes, bags, and components are tagged with both origin number and destination location (Floor 5, Zone B-3). Unloading sorts by destination.

Are file archives insured during the move?

Yes — Berjaya Insurance Berhad transit cover applies to office moves including documents. Chain-of-custody documentation supports any claim if items are missing.

How long does an office pack-out take?

30-50 workstations typically a Friday-night-to-Saturday window. 100+ workstations need a long weekend. Larger offices phase across two weekends.
