In depth
Why furniture moves go wrong
Almost never because something was too heavy. The failures we get called in to rescue are administrative. A lift was not booked, so a crew of six spends Saturday carrying desks down a fire stair. The certificate of insurance was not lodged with building management, so the loading bay turns the truck away. Fixings from twenty identical workstations went into one box, so the rebuild becomes a jigsaw. Or nobody produced a destination plan, so furniture lands in roughly the right area and someone spends Monday morning moving it again by hand.
Every one of those is preventable at survey. That is why the survey is free and why we insist on doing one rather than quoting from a photograph and a piece count.
How we label
The same system we use for full office relocations. Every workstation gets an origin number — W47 — and every component that leaves it carries that number: the panels, the bracket bag, the cable bag, the pedestal, the chair. The destination tag carries the new location instead, written as floor, zone and position: 5 / B-3. Unloading sorts by destination tag, so the crew placing furniture never has to know where it came from, and the rebuild crew never has to guess which bracket bag belongs to which desk.
For anything modular or bespoke, the assembly is photographed before dismantling. It is a thirty-second step that removes an entire category of Monday-morning problem.
Building access in Klang Valley towers
This is the part clients most often underestimate. Most commercial buildings in Kuala Lumpur require a booked service lift, a protective fit-out inside it, a certificate of insurance naming building management, contractor registration at the guardhouse, and sometimes a refundable deposit against damage to common areas. Bangsar South and KL Sentral towers are strict about it. Older buildings in the city centre often have smaller lifts and tighter loading bays, which changes what can be moved assembled and what has to come apart.
We handle that paperwork as part of the job. It is not a line item you should be chasing on a Friday afternoon.
What it costs
Furniture moves are quoted on piece count, access, and whether the work is inside or outside business hours — not on distance, since most of this work happens within one building or one business park. A single-floor reconfiguration of thirty to forty workstations is typically a Friday-evening-to-Saturday window. Multi-floor jobs, or anything requiring furniture to go into storage and come back, are phased across two weekends.
Every quote is written, itemised and issued within 24 hours of survey, with All Risk transit cover through Berjaya Insurance Berhad included rather than sold separately. If part of the job is disposal, that is quoted as its own line so you can see exactly what removing the surplus is costing you.
Where we work
Kuala Lumpur city centre and KL Sentral, Bangsar South, Mid Valley, Damansara Heights, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam including the Hicom-Glenmarie corridor, Subang Jaya, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya. Outside the Klang Valley we cover Penang and Johor Bahru for commercial work on a scheduled basis — tell us the dates and we will confirm crew availability at survey.

If the address is changing, you want office relocation rather than this page. If the furniture is staying but everything on it has to be boxed, that is office packing. Server racks and data-centre equipment are handled separately under IT and server relocation, because they need anti-static handling and IT-team coordination that furniture does not.
